TURNING EVERY FLIGHT INTO INTELLIGENCE

ORBIT uses automated thermal sensing to turn aircraft already operating over a wildfire into a persistent source of actionable intelligence, without adding missions or workload.

The Challenge

You Can’t Fight
What You Can’t See.

Effective wildfire response starts with knowing where the fire is, what it is doing, and how it is changing.

But getting that picture is difficult. Smoke can obscure the ground from aerial supervisors. Traditional infrared mapping flights may provide only one or two snapshots a day. Satellite imagery can be infrequent and lack the detail needed to understand fire behavior at an operational level.

The fire keeps moving. The intelligence has to keep up.

The Best View is Already in the Air.

Throughout an incident, aircraft are already operating above the fire. They have the perspective, access, and frequency needed to provide a much more current view of what is happening below.

But those aircraft and crews have a primary mission to perform. Adding cameras, operators, or additional cockpit tasks isn’t the answer.

The opportunity was clear: capture the intelligence without changing the mission.

Every Flight Becomes a Sensor.

ORBIT adds automated thermal sensing to aircraft already operating over the fire. As the aircraft flies its primary mission, ORBIT captures thermal imagery and automatically processes it into geolocated heat detections, fire perimeters, and predictive information.

That intelligence is delivered into the common operating picture agencies already use, without requiring a camera operator, manual image processing, or another system for decision-makers to manage.

ORBIT works in the background while the mission continues.

Intelligence That Keeps Pace

ORBIT turns flights already underway into a more persistent source of fire intelligence. By capturing observations throughout the operational day, it helps close the gaps between traditional mapping updates and gives decision-makers a clearer picture of changing conditions.

See Through
The Conditions

Thermal sensing reveals fire activity through smoke, haze, and darkness, providing visibility when the ground may otherwise be obscured.

Keep Pace
With The Fire

Each pass adds another observation, creating more frequent updates of fire location and progression as conditions change throughout the day.

Intelligence Where
It’s Needed

ORBIT delivers fire intelligence directly into the platforms agencies already use, without adding another tool or workflow.

Looking Ahead

Anticipating the Projection

Every ORBIT-equipped flight also contributes to a growing record of real-world fire behavior.

Over time, observations across different fires, terrain, weather, and conditions can help strengthen fire-spread modeling and predictive capabilities. The goal is to move beyond understanding where a fire is toward better anticipating where it may be going.

Better observations today. Better predictions tomorrow.

Advancing the View From Above

ORBIT is expanding how aircraft already on the fire can contribute to a clearer, more current intelligence picture.
